UW-Manitowoc Continuing Education Offers Nursing Boot Camp

By UW-Manitowoc

The UW-Manitowoc Office of Continuing Education is offering a Nursing Boot Camp to high school students and graduated seniors who want to explore the nursing profession. This one-week summer program will explore the opportunities available through a nursing career and expose potential majors to chemistry, academics and the mechanics of the nursing profession. The camp will be held June 16-20 daily from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the UW-Manitowoc campus.

The camp will include an overview of college coursework, the college laboratory experience, and the various types of nursing specialties. Participants will gain experience doing general health assessments and participate in a job shadow at either Holy Family Memorial or Aurora Health Care. Certification in CPR/AED for the Health Care Profession will be completed as part of the camp.

Registration with completed documentation and immunizations is required by May 30. For more information, contact Suzanne Lawrence, Director of Continuing Education or visit the Continuing Education website here.
