The Office of Continuing Education at UW-Manitowoc is offering a course designed to provide health care providers, activities professionals, ALF, SNF and CBRF staff the opportunity to gain further understanding of brain function, distinguish between leisure and therapeutic activities, and identify and engage in activities that address current standards of mental fitness programs. “Whole Brain Health and Fitness” is recommended for anyone who works with individuals who have cognitive impairments; a health care background is recommended.
The course will be held on Wednesdays beginning March 12 through April 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The course will culminate with a health fair on April 16, also from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., where participants will be able to practice their skills. The fair is free and open to the public.
