Jane Turner, Dean’s Executive Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc, is the recipient of the 2013 Chancellor’s Career Award from the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension.
UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Ray Cross presented the award at the institutions’ Chancellor’s Awards Reception, September 12, in Madison. The annual Chancellor’s Awards recognize UW Colleges and UW-Extension partners, supporters and employees for their outstanding contributions to the quality of life in Wisconsin.
Cross thanked Turner helping make each transition in the Dean’s office as seamless as possible and for sharing her energy, enthusiasm and expertise in support of UW-Manitowoc and the UW Colleges.
“Jane embodies efficiency, resourcefulness, resolve and leadership, with her primary focus being on making sure that the UW Colleges and our colleagues are successful,” said Charles Clark, campus executive officer and dean at UW-Manitowoc. “Jane has quietly established herself as a leader among colleagues and consistently excels in her work.”
Turner’s career in the UW Colleges began in 1995 at UW-Baraboo. She joined the UW-Manitowoc campus in 2004 and served three different deans and two interim deans. Turner is officially retiring in October.
