Glowing ice, slime, magical color changes, dragon’s breath, witches’ brew and even some explosions will be part of the Cool Chemistry event on Tuesday, May 1, at the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc in the University Theatre located in Lakeside Hall.
This is the 16th year UW-Manitowoc chemistry students will be planning and presenting these free shows for the community. Area children and their families can experience the “fun” side of chemistry during two performances designed for different age groups.
The 4:30 pm show is for children ages three to eight. The 6:30 p.m. show is best for children ages nine and up. The doors will open 45 minutes prior to each show with only the first 350 people admitted.
Following each 45 to 60 minute show, there will be an opportunity for kids to make their own slime. Children can also pick up a ticket at the door for the chance to help with demonstrations on stage. Because of the popularity of this event, families are asked to attend only one show.
